Daniel B. Yarosh, PhD, to Write First Book on Skincare
by a Molecular Biologist;
Book to be Published in Summer 2007 by Morgan Road Books

FREEPORT, N.Y., March 3, 2006 -- AGI Dermatics, a leading bio-pharmaceutical company specializing in photobiology and DNA repair technology, is proud to announce that its president and CEO, Daniel B. Yarosh, PhD, has joined the Xeroderma Pigmentosum Society Scientific Advisory Board.

Daniel B. Yarosh, PhD, a molecular biologist and president and CEO of AGI Dermatics, Inc., announced today that he has entered into a publishing agreement with Morgan Road Books, an imprint of the Doubleday Broadway Publishing Group of Random House, Inc., to write a hardcover book in his area of specialty — skin. Specifically, Dr. Yarosh will address the new-millennial view of skin, driven by the genomic revolution and recent breakthroughs in our understanding of DNA. As yet untitled, the book will be grounded in scientific validation (rare in popular skincare literature), and the gamut of information it will cover — ranging from Galileo and Einstein to singlet oxygen and matrix metalloproteinases, to Coco Chanel — will be informed by a lively spirit of scientific inquiry.

A subdivision of Bertelsmann AG, the world's largest media conglomerate, Morgan Road has a reputation for publishing non-fiction books by authors who are credible, clear-thinking experts in their fields. If a common thread unites the titles published by the imprint, it is a non-doctrinaire re-examination of commonly held views, serving the interest of personal fulfillment as well as intellectual inquiry. "In the best of all possible words," says a company statement, Morgan Road books "will be books to live by."

Breaking ranks with the medically- and cosmetically-oriented skincare guides that have appeared in recent years, Dr. Yarosh's book will bring this genre up to speed by being the first to explore skin aging and state-of-the-art skin rejuvenation from the viewpoint of an expert in DNA and photobiology. His credo: "It is never too late for skin recovery and repair."

A leading figure in the field of molecular biology, Dr. Yarosh is the inventor of Dimericine®, a liposomal DNA repair-enzyme treatment, which has been called the "morning-after" lotion for sun damage. Dimericine has been proven in clinical trials to prevent both precancerous actinic keratoses and basal cell carcinomas. This drug is currently awaiting FDA approval as a prescription medication. In recognition of his breakthrough research in DNA repair, Dr. Yarosh received the coveted Finsen Award in 2004, presented by the International Union of Photobiology Societies.

Dr. Yarosh has authored more than 100 scientific papers and two dozen patents worldwide. Publication of Dr. Yarosh's book is anticipated for summer 2007.

Dr. Yarosh's company, AGI Dermatics, located in Freeport, New York, specializes in the commercial application of DNA repair technology, in prescription and OTC medications, and in devising ingredients that are supplied to major cosmetic and personal care companies worldwide.
